My second interview of the day was with Kurumi-San and Mayu-san. Kurumi-san was wearing a BTSSB jsk in a new print being shown at the Fashion Show on Saturday of the event, this print is called “rabbit squirrel apple forest”. She paired this look with lots of bows and a pink usakumya! Mayu-san wore AatP jsk in a lovely darker style, this print is called “Chateau de nounours” and she wore her black hair in a hime cut with long braids covered in bows, and all finished with a matching headscarf. They were both enchanting and very friendly! It was an honor to meet them and giggle over how cute we all were!」
二つ目のインタビューは BABY, THE STARS SHONE BRIGHT のデザイナー、クルミさんとマユさんとです。クルミさんはイベント初日のファッションショーで紹介された新しいプリントのベイビーのジャンパースカートを着ていました。このプリントは、「ウサギ、リスとリンゴの森」と呼ばれているものでした。彼女はこのジャンパースカートにたくさんのリボンとピンクのウサクミャを組み合わせていたの。マユさんはALICE and the PIRATESのジャンパースカートを可愛らしくダークな感じに着こなしていました。このプリントは「“Chateau de nounours」で、彼女は髪を長いブレイドの姫カットにしてリボンをたくさんつけ、そこにとってもよく合うヘッドスカーフをしています。彼女たちは二人ともとっても魅力的でとっても優しくしてくれました。彼女たちと時間を共にできて、そしてみんなでクスクス笑いながら、「みんな、可愛いわ」って言い合えたこと、本当に誇りに思います。

Me: If you had to describe Lolita Fashion in one sentence how would you describe it?
質問：ロリータファッションを一言で表すとしたら、何て言いますか？

B – (thinking hard) “What girls strive to be and look up to!” [Kurumi]
クルミ：（とっても一生懸命考えてくれて）「女のことがこうなりたいと思えることで、憧れを持てるもの」

Me: What would you say is your favorite print or design?
質問：お気に入りのプリントやデザインってありますか？

B – Recent or older? Oh, there’s so many!! [Kurumi]
I think one of my favorites is “The Grace ~ Hymn of the Departure” [Mayu]
クルミ：最近のもの、それとも古いもの？たくさんありすぎるわ。
マユ：お気に入りのひとつは、「The Grace ~ Hymn of the Departure」ですね。

Me: What fashions fill your daily closet?
質問：毎日着る服のクローゼットはどんなファッションのもの？

B – Lolita, of course, I like sweet cuts and lots of crosses [Kurumi]
I really like Gothic looks, with lots of blacks [Mayu]
クルミ：もちろん、ロリータ。可愛いカットでクロスがたくさんついているものが好き。
マユ：本当にゴシックが好き。黒い服ばかりよ。

Me: Are there any Styles or Trends you look forward to possibly seeing on the streets of Japan in the future?
未来の日本のストリートはこんなふうになっているなんて思えるようなスタイルやトレンドってありますか？

B – (Kurumi-san had a lot to say – the translator had a hard time keeping up since she was very passionate about this topic)

It seems that Lolita Fashion is trending towards mature and cute styles with less stiff fabric, like cotton or polyester, and moving towards lighter, breathable, and softer fabric like chiffon.
クルミ：（ものすごくたくさん言いたいことがあったようで、通訳の人がついていけなかったの。そのくらい彼女はこのトピックに情熱を持っていたわ）ロリータファッションは成熟した可愛いスタイルの方向に行くと思います。より固くない布地、コットンやポリエステルを使って、もっとずっと軽くて、息ができて、シフォンにみたいに柔らかなファブリックで作られるものが増えてくると思う。

Me: What does btssb/aatp consider when creating a new design or print?
質問：新しいデザインやプリントを作り出すとき、何を考えていますか？

B – The overall scheme of the garment (such as gospel) and use that in multiple ways for cohesion. [Kurumi]
クルミ：全体的な衣服の配置（ゴスペルなど）、そしてまとまりが持てるようにいろいろな方法で、そのことを使うわ。

Me: How long does a dress take from the conception of a design to retail sales?
質問：ドレスのデザインのコンセプトから実際に売りに出されるまでどれくらいかかるもの？

B – Who first you decide on the fabric the shape the cut then you do a check then you make the Garment and you sample it out followed by making into products overall it takes 3 to 6 months. [Kurumi]
クルミ：素材と形とカットを決めて、それをチェックしますよね。それから洋服として作っていきます。それをサンプルにして、それから商品にしていきますから、全体で３か月から６か月はかかりますね。

Me: Wow that’s really fast!
質問：わあ、そんなに早いんだ！

B – Yes! Yes it is! [Kurumi]
クルミ：そうそう、そうなのよ。

Me: In recent months fashion brands such as H.naoto and Swimmer have closed their physical storefronts, FRUiTS magazine threatened to shut down, and KERA magazine seized print publication and moved to online only. Do you think this means the end of Japanese Street fashion or perhaps the beginning of something else entirely?
質問：ここ数か月なのですけれど、H.naotoやSwimmerといったファッションブランドがお店を閉めたりしています。FRUiTSマガジンも閉鎖されてしまうかもって言ってしました。KERAも紙の媒体をやめてオンラインのみになりました。これは日本のストリートファッションの終わりを意味していると思いますか？それとも何か全く違う新しいものが生まれる兆し？

B – Well, I work in Harajuku, I see lots of people on the streets still wearing this clothing, but it is dwindling. We are working hard at BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT to restore it and make it into something new. [Kurumi]
クルミ：そうね、私は原宿で働いています。まだ多くの人がストリートでこういった洋服を着ています。でも数は減っているかな。私たちBABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHTは、それをまた力強くするために、そこから何か新しいものを生み出すために、日々頑張っています。
